About Us

The initial idea to form an association of automobile importers and exporters was first mooted when a group of car dealers sat down for their regular lunch get together in late 1998 to exchange ideas and share industry news. At that time rules and regulations pertaining to the the parallel import of new cars were slowly being liberalised by the authorities and more players were entering the trade.

With the blessing of the National Environment Agency and the Land Transport Authority the AUTOMOBILE IMPORTER  & EXPORTER ASSOCIATION (SINGAPORE) - AIEA - was officially registered with the Registrar of Societies on the 11th January 2000 with ten founding members.
